Hin Ta & Hin Yai

The famous grandfather and grandmother rocks are strange natural formations fashioned by the elements into massive sculptures of male and female genitals, which make great photographs. A local story tells of an old couple whose ship was wrecked in the bay and their bodies were washed ashore to create the rocks. They can be found just south of Lamai and are well signposted from the 4169 ring-road.

Orverlap Stone

On the north side of the 4169 ring-road, this rock has a precarious perch overhanging a daunting cliff top high above Lamai. A proper dirt bike will get you most of the way up, but unless you’re feeling brave, you really shouldn’t attempt it on a scooter. Walking all the way can be pretty exhausting, but the view is fantastic and there’s a refreshment stand to help you recuperate when you arrive. One kilometre west of Hin-yai.

Na Muang Waterfalls
Actually a set of two waterfalls, they are the most scenic on the island and are located 10 km south of  Nathon near  Ban Thurian.  Na Muang   1 is 18 meters high and can be reached by vehicle as it is at the end   of the road.   Na Muang  2 is about 80 meters  High and  can  only be  reached by a  30-minute walk,  it is obviously less frequently visited even though it is arguably the prettiest falls on the island and worth the walk. Na Muang Safari based at the cross roads can take you up on the back of an elephant if you prefer.

Hin Lad Waterfalls
Just south of Nathon and well signposted, the falls are a 2-kilometer   walk from  the pool at the  road head.   It is quite a tough trek  so  make sure you have decent footwear. The falls  are really nice as long as there is enough water (in the dry season it is probably not worth the trek) and there is a pool that you can swim in.
