Rocky
Resort is a small exclusive development of 15 bungalows constructed
to blend in with the surrounding coconut trees. The exteriors
of the bungalows are formed from coconut trees. Unlike other
resorts, the bungalows are well spaced to offer a degree of
privacy not available elsewhere. |
All the bungalows have been recently refurbished and all
have hot water showers. All bungalows have refrigerators/mini-bars
installed. All our facilities are constantly maintained
and we achieve and maintain a standard of cleanliness consistent
with good hotels in Europe.
The resort is situated on the beach and from the veranda
of each bungalow there is an unparalleled view of the Gulf
of Siam from Hinta Hinyai, the famous grandfather and grandmother
rocks, to Ban Hua Thanon, a fishing village situated on
the south east corner of the island. The long tailed fishing
boats can be seen daily as they depart for fishing and arrive
home with their catch.

The
sea front bungalows run along the shoreline and each bungalow
is approximately five meters from the high tide mark. The
sea view bungalows are elevated to provide a magnificent view
of the ocean and are approximately twenty-five meters from
the beach.
The resort has three private
beaches which are enclosed by large outcrops of granite rocks
which form idyllic sheltered coves. The sea off the resort
is shallow and is ideal for snorkeling. Large amounts of coral
and tropical fish may be seen.

Rocky Resort is a haven of peace and
tranquility-the ideal place to lose your stress. We are
situated over one hundred meters from the main road so there
is no traffic noise. On the north side, the nearest resort
is over five hundred meters away and on the south the next
resort is over ten kilometers distance. Yet, the bright
lights, bars and night life of Lamai Beach are a half hour
walk away or five minutes by a local taxi. Chaweng Beach,
which is even more built up, is fifteen minutes by taxi.
Rocky's gardens are filled with tropical fruit trees and
flowering bushes and trees such as Bougainvillea, hibiscus
and white gardenia.

We
have a fresh water swimming pool with a large deck area. Our
restaurant is situated next to the pool area on one of the
granite rocks. Dinner is eaten with the sound and sight of
the waves rolling on to the beach. Our chefs have cooked in
major hotels in various parts of the world and produce fine
local, Chinese and European food. Seafood, such as Red Snapper,
Butterfish, King Prawns and Rock Lobster, which are purchased
freshly every day, is a speciality.
